BIO-LIPOTROL is an all natural pharmaceutical designed to assist the body in regulating the production and metabolism of cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides.

INOSITOL HEXANICOTINATE is composed of one molecule of the vitamin B3 in the form of niacin. Inositol hexanicotinate has several advantages over regular niacin and standard formulations of time-released niacin. Regular niacin has a long track record of positively affecting serum lipid levels, but has the negative drawback of causing dermal flushing in persons taking it. Due to this flush and some itching that may accompany it, regular niacin has had a poor long-term patient compliance record. To improve compliance, researchers developed time-release niacin to prevent the flushing reaction. While time-released niacin was successful, the ingredients used to accomplish this (waxes and resins) proved potentially harmful in some individuals. The observed problematic side effect was an elevation of liverenzymes. As inositol hexanicotinate, the niacin is slowly released from theinositol over several hours without the need for chemical binders such as waxesor resins. Inositol hexanicotinate gives the patient all the advantages ofniacin without the side effects. With inositol hexanicotinate, patients get thebenefit of its lipid-lowering effects with little or no flushing response.

GUGGUL GUM EXTRACT refers to the extract of the oleoresinof the mukul myrrh tree. Oral use of guggul has been shown to improve lipidprofiles. In addition to guggul’s lipid-lowering benefits, guggulextracts have been shown to possess antioxidant properties that protect lipidsfrom oxidation.

RED YEAST RICE EXTRACT is a product of the fermentation ofrice with various strains of yeast Monascus purpureus. Red yeast rice (RYR) hasbeen shown to promote healthy lipid levels. The monacolins in RYR exhibitHMG-CoA reductase-inhibitory activity. This activity may in part explain thelipid-lowering effects of RYR.

POLICOSANOL is derived from sugar cane. Studies have shownit to promote healthy lipid levels.
