    My husband and I have been battling sinus "funk" for about a month & a half now. It has also turned into infection. It seemed to start out viral. We have been taking sinus chi 2c 3x's a day and switching back & fourth between that & bamboo 2c 3x's a day. Along with pure encapsulations daily immune 2c 3x's a day; pure encapsulations buffered absorbic acid 1/2 tsp. 2 x's a day. Nature's sunshine L-acidophilus (my favorite) 3x's a day; We also started taking natures sunshine colloidal silver to fight the infection. We continue to produce mucous & are having a hard time fighting the infection. I think may I need to increase the silver. I cannot figure out why we keep having so much mucous. We have also cut out gluten & sweets from our diet. I am a nursing mother. Thank you. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  • Hi Melanie - Few things to check: - have your air ducts professionally cleaned if you use forced air in your home and office - replace furnace filters - check for mold in your home - it loves humid places so bathrooms, basements, closets, near the floors, window areas - avoid all dairy products - get air purifiers in the rooms that you spend the most time in. - get house plants which clean the air. - ideally remove carpets in your home and switch to real hardwood or tile - get dust mite covers on your pillow - toss your pillow if it is more than 2 yrs old and get a new one - not foam as they off gas toxins. - get a dust mite mattress cover I don't see any vitamin D in your list there. Since you are a nursing mother, consider taking 6,000 IU of Vitamin D3 a day - which is 3 DROPS of Vitamin D360.   • Thank you Dr. Ben. We have a Neil med sinus rinse, does this do the same things as neti pot?
  • Melanie - The Sinus rinse is not the same effect. Some find the Neilmed works well for them but others find that neti pots really make the difference because it actually helps wash the sinus out rather than simply spray solution upwards. I also don't like the plastic bottles personally.
