Expanded benefits from vitamins D & K and Lipase
A breakthrough fish oil product using the same high potency omega-3 oil found in OmegAvail Ultra TG softgel, with the enhanced benefit of the fat soluble vitamins D and K, plus lipase for enhanced digestion and absorption.
Lipase has been added as a digestive aid. Lipase is an enzyme needed for breaking down lipids (fats) and in particular, triglycerides.
View additional studies supporting the benefits of lipase, including (1) its importance for the efficient digestion of dietary fats and (2) why more lipase may be needed beyond normal production in the pancreas.
This unique and powerful combination of ingredients provides the known benefits of fish oil with those from the inclusion of vitamins D, K1, and K2. Additional benefits associated with the presence of vitamins D, K1, and K2 may include:
Did You Know?
Research shows that omega 3 fatty acids from fish oil improve bone health by enhancing calcium absorption, reducing bone loss and maintaining bone mineral density.
Fish Oils with Vitamins D & K – an Important Synergistic Blend
While vitamin D is typically recommended with calcium for bone health, vitamin D supplementation, in the presence of inadequate levels of vitamin K, can increase the risk of calcium deposition in arteries and soft tissue.
Thus, it is important to supplement vitamin D with vitamin K, which will then complement the cardiovascular and bone health benefits provided by omega 3 fatty acids. Considering that deficiencies in vitamins D and K may be more prevalent than expected, adding vitamin D and K in fish oil would ensure that the health benefits from fish oil are optimized.
Of importance – we've included two forms of vitamin K; K1 and K2 in the Menaquinone 7 (MK-7) form. Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) has been shown in research to reduce the effects of cardiovascular diseases.
Also, to differentiate from traditional fish oil softgels (golden color), these softgels are presented in a natural caramel color.
As always, our fish oils are molecularly distilled to ensure purity and the removal of heavy metals, environmental pollutants and oxidative impurities.
Designs for Health began in 1989 by offering nutrition counseling and education services. The company's immediate success grew out of their ability to deliver results in the form of successful patient treatment outcomes. Relying on science-based nutritional solutions, the company's motto became — and still is — "Science First."
Why We Call Ourselves "The Paleo Company"
The nutrition experts at Designs for Health believe in the benefits of a Paleolithic diet, which is based on the same dietary principles followed by our ancestors. During the 2.6 million years that our Paleolithic ancestors inhabited the earth, they depended upon nutrition from lean meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. As a result, our ancestors were lean, fit, and free of the chronic diseases that plague our society in epidemic proportions today.
Diets changed considerably in the space of a few thousand years, owing to the dawn of agriculture and the introduction of cereal grains. Today, a concerted effort is required to avoid highly processed foods containing minimal nutritional value and chemicals with cumulative, adverse effects.
Given that there has been little change in the human genome since Paleolithic times, our nutritional requirements remain similar to those of the Stone Age hunter-gatherers. Thus, a diet that espouses Paleolithic principles — a balanced ratio of low net carbohydrates, high quality proteins, and essential fats — may be the ideal route to the attainment of robust health, energy, and vitality.
At Designs for Health, they believe that supplements should not be taken as a substitute for good quality food; rather, they should be used to enhance the diet by optimizing nutritional wellness and increasing metabolic efficiency. Supplements can also compensate for nutritional deficiencies resulting from the consumption of processed foods with lower nutritional value, or nutrient-depleting lifestyle factors such as stress and chemical exposure.
