    • i feel great taking estrogen ; is it saft at my age(73??)
      What are the risks??
    • Hello - If you are taking bio-identical estrogen, it is quite safe as long as your estrogen levels are within range and you've talked with your doctor. You must monitor your estrogen levels with your physician - if taking bio-identicals or other nutrients to increase estrogen. Risks of too much estrogen are numerous. Most risky are blood clots and cancer. As woman age, their estrogen levels tend to drop a bit which is why bio-identical hormones appear to work so well. I highly recommend you speak with your doctor about ordering the Estrogen Fractionation Test (looks at three types of estrogens and if the harmful forms are elevated, you can alter them through diet and lifestyle). • What is the normal range of estrogen in a female and if i had never had a test to find out can i still take the estrogen capsules. I'm only 43 yrs. old and i had my cervix removed a year ago i dont get my menstrual periods any more, it is safe for me to take estrogen.

      Thank You
    • Hello - As women age, their estrogen levels tend to even out and may actually lower. It is not recommend to lower any hormone without identifying to see if it is low or not first. Low estrogen in women can cause unpleasant symptoms such as: - vaginal dryness - dry skin - weak bones Best Dr Ben

  • Estrogen and weight gain at 3/6/12 6:40 PM
    • I am 40 years old. I had a blood clot after I broke my foot and had to be in a wheelchair for 4 months. I have not had one since which was a year and a half ago. My doctor took me off my hormones and since then I have gained 45 pounds. I also have severe hot flashes.I have read where estrogen is linked to weight gain.
Can I take an estrogen dietary supplement instead?
    • Hello - It is not recommended to take any estrogen or hormone support products without first having your levels tested by your doctor. At this moment, I recommend getting your hormone levels checked to see what the best course of action should be. This is the safest and most effective route. In health, Dr Ben
