  • Klean Kanteen as fuel container at 3/14/12 2:21 PM
    • I have several Klean Kanteens that I use for drinking water and I love them. I was wondering if I could use another Klean Kanteen to store fuel for backpacking or motorcycle treks. I assume the stainless steel would be fine, but not sure if the plastic or the o-ring would hold up that that specific use?
    • That is a good question. I do not know offhand. Please go to a hiking/outdoor store and see what they say. You can also look at the fuel bottles and see what material they use for the gaskets. Obviously, once you add fuel to it, you cannot use it is a drinking vessel anymore - just have to state it ;) There are plastic gas cans out there but that plastic is, I believe, polyethylene.
