LARREA PLUS AN INNOVATIVE FORMULA COMBINING SELECT HERBS AND EXTRACTS FOR THEIR ANTIVIRAL, ANTIOXIDANT, AND ANTI INFLAMMATORY PROPERTIES.
Larrea tridentata has been in existence for over 12,000 years and has been scientifically documented as the oldest living plant on earth. To the native tribes of the Southwestern desert in the United States, it was often referred to as “medicine chest.” Traditionally larrea was used for a range of health conditions including chicken pox, digestive disorders, sores, inflammation, rheumatism, influenza, bronchitis and the common cold. In 1995 the larrea plant jumped to the forefront of research when three articles by scientists at John’s Hopkins University detailed the efficacy of the plant’s extracts to inhibit the replication of the HIV1 virus.
It was this ability to prevent virus replication that caught the attention of clinicians, in particular the effectiveness of Larrea against the herpesvirus. The herpes virus is extremely prevalent in most of the world. The herpesfamily of viruses is made up of approximately 80 distinct types of viruses andit is probable that some type of herpes virus will affect nearly everyone intheir lifetime. Far more than just a simple cold sore, strains of the herpesvirus have been implicated in many serious human diseases.
Although the symptoms of herpes may not be obvious, new research tells usthat the viruses are quite active, inflicting constant, cumulative damage tothe critical organs in our bodies as they replicate at a low level throughoutour lives. Because herpes viruses are excellent at evading the forces of theimmune system, we have often felt defenseless against these viruses.
Larrea has demonstrated invaluable promise in the fight against numerousherpes virus conditions. Larrea’s active constituents function aspowerful antioxidants, which also assists in inhibiting viral replication. Bystopping the invasion and survival of herpes virus in the body, furtherdestruction of healthy cells is alleviated. The active antiviral compounds ofthe larrea plant have now been formulated with other herbs and nutrients knownto have antimicrobial and immune support action.
Complementary Nutrients for a Comprehensive Formula
ZincA biologically essential trace element and a vital cofactor in manybiological processes including DNA, RNA and protein synthesis. Zinc also playsa role in immune function and wound healing. Research shows that zincsupplementation improves cellmediated immune response, including natural killercells and Tlymphocyte activity. This arm of the immune system is activatedduring the body’s defense against viral infections. In addition zinc hasshown specific antiviral activity against the herpes virus.
Propalis—A resinous material from poplar and conifer buds used by beesfor hive maintenance. Propalis has been used medicinally for abcesses and woundhealing since 350 B.C. The potent flavanoids found in propolis exhibitantiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal activity. In addition propolis extracthas powerful antioxidant effects and suppresses inflammatory metabolism.
Llysine—Lysine has been reported to reduce viral replication bymodulating the production of arginine. Llysine provides nutritional support forthe body’s natural defense against infections. When taken orally Llysinehas been shown to reduce replication of the herpes virus and decreases severityand healing time.
Vitamin C, Melissa officinalis & Olive leaf extract—The activeconstituents of these nutrients have demonstrated potent immune support andantioxidant properties. Together they provide important protection againsttissue damaging free radicals and maintain normal immune cell defenses.

I found this product to be very reliable and effective. It really reduces sypmtoms and is a very good supressant. (Posted on 10/17/12)
I have had my bottle of Larrea for a while now, and now am starting to use it. I have 2 roomates making 3 of us in one house. It's October so this is when people start getting sick. First one got sick, and a few days later the other did, making me the only one not truly "sick" in the household. I was taking one of these every morning and I actually still feel great, although I have had a few outbreaks of sneezes, but i'm still going to work and not feeling under the weather and very little symptoms at all. I am sure larrea helped me fight this bug! (Posted on 10/17/12)
While we haven't received any complaints, bee propolis is considered to be an allergen for those sensitive to bees and bee products.
