Q. I have dealt with constipation for many years and do believe I have taken every remedy known to man. I am also gluten free. The only somewhat-reliable supplement that works for me is magnesium oxide. I like the fact that Magnesium Plus is such a clean product, but 100 mg would not make a difference for my constipation. I usually take 1200 mg of magnesium oxide. I do take P5P separately. Magnesium citrate powder does not work either.

If you are experiencing headaches, high blood pressure, stress, muscle spasms and fatigue, magnesium insufficiency may be a factor. Magnesium is crucial to hundreds of biochemical processes in your body, and the typical “Western” diet does not provide adequate magnesium. There is no standard clinical test to determine magnesium levels; serum levels of magnesium in the blood may be low even when levels are sufficient. This is because about 98% of magnesium in the body is being used in intracellular functions, where it can’t be measured through blood tests.
If you are living with lactose intolerance, using a lactase enzyme supplement allows you the freedom to enjoy dairy products again. The use of micro-organism derived lactase enzyme with meals containing lactose has been confirmed to be safe and free from side effects. Lactase enzyme is available in liquid, powder, and tablet forms. When taken with meals, a potent lactase enzyme supplement will break down lactose into its two constituent simple sugars, galactose and glucose.
If you have a health condition in which estrogen levels are a factor, you may benefit from dietary compounds known as "indoles" that regulate hormone function and provide antioxidant protection. Cruciferous vegetables like kale, cabbage, and broccoli have long been associated with good health and longevity. The protective and health-promoting activity of these foods has been investigated in recent years, providing evidence of the healing properties of these vegetables.
