The last four patients I have seen in the teaching clinic have proved to me how essential it is to get a dental history. Dental history meaning: mercury fillings, copper fillings, root canals, tooth abcesses, bleeding gums and so on.

One patient had 12 mercury amalgams, 5 root canals and complaints of polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypothyroidism, depression, severe weight gain, intense abdominal pain, IBS, rosacea to name a couple. She just came in for her first visit so no treatment yet. We referred her to a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy to rule out some dangerous conditions first. She is due to come in soon and we will begin our treatment plan. Ill let you know what we find.

Another was happy-go-lucky .com guy making his fortunes and then a mercury filling came out and he swallowed half of it while the rest he took out on his finger. He had numerous mercury amalgams and now is so ill he has not worked in the past year. He has been suffering seizures, chronic fatigue syndrome and night sweats. We did a urinary challenge test on him - high in mercury. Surprise. He has been tested up and down and all around by the MD's - no luck finding any cause of seizures or his other issues. After 2 months of working with us, he is already functioning much better: seizures have gone down, night sweats have stopped, energy up.

A female who has had numerous mercury amalgams, umpteen root canals, teeth removed has issues of intense gut pain for 15 years so bad that she has been taking morphine for 10 years, joint pains and fatigue. Recent onset of tooth pain again. Went to the dentist as I asked about her dental history and they found a raging abscess in one tooth. They drained the abscess and did what they do. Now she is without gut pain, feeling like she is on cloud 9 and full of joy. Connection? Looks like. She had no fever or other signs of infection. It was all dental history which triggered the healing outcome.

Another patient - female - complaints of joint pain, bad breath, hypothyroid and short term memory loss. History - major root canal, 1 mercury amalgam taken out improperly by a dentist and has a large one currently. Have yet to do a mercury urinary challenge on her. Will do soon.

My point:
If you are suffering of short term memory loss, fatigue, low thyroid, abdominal pains, joint pains or other issues which your doctor cannot find the cause of, you must think about your dental history. If you have had root canals, if you have had mercury amalgams, if you have mercury amalgams currently, then you are likely brewing a nice pot of anaerobic bacteria in your mouth. They have been shown to emit horrific toxic gases and waste products directly into your blood.

Your mouth is right there by your brain and heart. It is no place to mess around.

Get your teeth looked at by a holistic dentist or by a dentist who specializes in removal of mercury amalgams and also knows not to perform root canals - but rather pull the bad tooth along with the peridontal ligament and put in a bridge.
