I'm off to the university now but wanted to share this quickly:
Coffee contains an oil which can raise your cholesterol levels.
There is a way to remove this cholesterol-raising oil. Use a paper filter - preferably use a non-bleached filter as it is non-toxic. The filter removes the oil providing those with higher levels of cholesterol to lower it.
If you have high cholesterol and do not filter your coffee, consider using the paper filter in the old school drip system. The French Press and Espresso style coffee contains the cholesterol-raising oil.
I will soon locate a research article on this to provide confidence in my readers.
