Florence –

Good talking with you yesterday.

Click here for the recording which you listen to as you need – yours is the ‘Fatigue after Gall Bladder Removal.’

As promised, here is a brief follow up of what we discussed.

Dietary Information:
Dietary choices are key but it sounds like your husband is doing pretty well there; he is only eating at the wrong time of day and not enough protein.
Have him eat smaller but more frequent meals, each having a bit of protein. Hard-boiled eggs, beans, almond butter, quinoa grain, chicken, grass fed beef, wild salmon, hummus, tahini are all great forms of protein.

Make sure he has breakfast
. Eggs are fast and very healthy. If he doesn’t eat breakfast, the craving for sugar spikes and he will binge on garbage foods. Bring snacks to work: celery and almond butter with raisins (can you tell I have kids?!), hummus with carrot sticks, celery and so on. Have his largest meal of the day at lunch time.

Dinner needs to be the lightest meal of the day; however, as we discussed, it is important that he have a small portion of protein before sleep. This is required for deep, full sleep. Half of an egg, a couple carrot sticks with tahini or hummus or some quinoa will be great.

Gall Bladder Help:
Since the gall bladder is constantly dripping bile, it is a good idea to have some form of fiber with each meal and between meals. Chia seeds are great for this. They are inexpensive, healthful, contain protein and minerals and also curb appetite.

Have him take a tablespoon of Chia Seeds between meals when he feels a bit of hunger or even when not hungry. This will curb the appetite and also help bind some of the dripping bile acids.

Another form of fiber that will be useful for your husband is Ultra Fiber Plus. It is good to mix between fibers for your husband’s sanity and also for his digestive system. I do recommend taking the Ultra Fiber Plus at night and the Chia Seeds during the day. This is easier and more effective. He may experiment though and find other ways which work better for him.

Consider taking 1 scoop of Ultra Fiber Plus before sleep to help bind the bile that drips during the evening. This should help bind the bile and at the same time help reduce some of the ‘water weight’ that is associated with diluting the bile concentration in the digestive system.

Reduce fat and spicy foods
as he has found out.

If your husband has a meal that is high in fat, he should consider taking 1 capsule of Liver GI-Detox right at meal time or during. Do not take on an empty stomach or too much time before meals as Liver GI-Detox is designed to stimulate bile acids which are needed to digest fats.

If his meal is not high in fat, oils or heavy, then he should not take Liver GI-Detox.

Stress and Blood Pressure Support:

Given that his stress is likely related to his blood pressure, it is a good idea to maintain adequate nutrients and herbs designed to calm and provide alertness and energy at the same time. While this seems impossible, it is easily obtainable in a good formulation.

Daily Stress Formula contains herbs designed to calm, energize without stimulating and nutrients which drive cellular metabolism and help form neurotransmitters.
It is best to take 1 - 2 capsules of Daily Stress Formula daily immediately on waking and away from food. He may eat, and should eat, within 20 minutes of taking Daily Stress Formula.

I recommend always starting at a lower dose and working up. Taking 1 capsule of Daily Stress Formula in the AM and again 20 minutes before lunch or 30 minutes after lunch; but not within 6 hours of sleep.

While taking Daily Stress Formula, he will find improved energy, more alertness and less reaction to stressors.

Again, it is important to start low and work up. Many people think that taking more of a supplement means it will work better. Not the case. Also, emphasize the point that he should take this away from meals but within 20 minutes of eating for optimum effect. Also do not take within 6 hours of going to sleep.

Taking 1 in the AM and 1 at lunch is likely going to be the best.

These should help him significantly.

With these suggestions, he will likely experience weight loss, energy gain, improved attitude and well-being.

Do have him follow up with me in one month or earlier if he has any questions.

In health,

Dr Ben
