Headache is gone.

I did an enema this morning and half-way through the procedure, my headache vanished and I felt light and clear in my head. In all the enemas I have done in my life - about 15 I guess - this one had the best immediate result.

The clarity I got was amazing. It was like someone opened my head and poured a glass of pure mountain spring water on my brain. Seriously.

I haven't been taking psyllium husk for the past few nights and it is making a big difference. My bowels have not been moving well and they are not full in size - skinny in other words. Sounds sick and gross yes but it means something. It means that there is a lot of material left in my colon even after having a bowel moment. The enema this morning proved that. No wonder I felt better.

The psyllium husk adds bulk to the stool allowing it to stretch the colon and stimulate a bowel movement by peristalsis. I will definitely be taking it tonight - about 2 T with about 10oz of water.

By the way - if you find yourself constipated and with slender stools in the toilet, buy yourself some psyllium husk - it is very cheap. Trader Joes has it for about $4 for about a quart size. Don't waste your money on some fancy herbal laxatives without trying psyllium husk first.

Tonight I will take a peat bath. An intense one. I look forward to recording my temperatures. The last peat bath I did, the water temperature was not that hot. Yet I still managed to get my internal temperature up to 102F. I think I will buy a thermometer which will measure the temperature of the bath water.

In my research in whole body hyperthermia, I found what temperature of water stimulates what hormones - and also what times of day the bath effects them also.

My fellow balneotherapy colleague, Dr Yuko Agishi, MD of Japan, did the following research to discover the hormonal association between water temperature and time of day.

  • Anti-diuretic hormone [keeps you from peeing] increases at all bathing temperatures but most at 107F and 77F.
  • Growth Hormone: increases quite a bit at 107F and a little at 104 and 77
  • Cortisol: decreases a touch at 107, stays the same throughout others except increases at 77
There are many more but those are enough for you to start out with. Notice that Growth Hormone increases a lot at 107F - that is quite impressive. Now who needs to buy that expensive hormone when all you need to do is take a hot bath for 30 minutes a day!

Do not take a hot bath in the morning if you're a male looks like. That will lower your cortisol levels making you quite tired the rest of the day. It is cortisol which wakes you up in the morning.

I will update you on how the intense peat bath goes tomorrow. Tonight I will do it and keep track of the information that I glean from it.

I ate well today - no crap at all except a rice cake. It's processed but not processed corn and it is not salsa and bean dip. I am not going full hardcore diet restriction at the moment as Im preparing for the heavy metal detox mentally. I already emailed Dr Yin that I will be seeing her shortly and asked her for some pre-appointment information.

Going to finish my raspberry, BioCleanse and whey protein smoothie. Got to get my 86 grams of protein in me. A person needs about 0.8 - 1.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. So as I am 190, I need about 86 grams. I get about 30 grams per smoothie.

If you're looking for a simple detox protocol - you can try the BioCleanse protocol. It is easy to follow and has some good points. And I might add that Dr Wood, the ND who formulated BioCleanse was featured in the New York Times recently. Pretty cool that I preceptor with him. Handy having connections...

Anyhow - back to studying for clinic and finishing my smoothie.
