I got up about 6 times to urinate and drink a few more large glasses of water.

I did another enema this morning to get rid of whatever metals accumulated in my colon - as mercury, lead and some others preferentially leave via the stool - not the urine. I didnt want them hanging around in my colon for any length of time as they would end up right back into my circulation - and then fat.

Point is this - if you get the heavy metals mobilized from your fat stores, whether it be from exercise, sauna, peat bath, DMSA, fasting - you best have a great system of elimination in order. If you do not, the mobilized heavy metals will be giving you grief.

So drink loads of water, do gravity-fed enemas daily, take plenty of vitamin c and other antioxidants, load up on a stool bulking product like psyllium husk and replenish your essential minerals and flora that get lost during the treatment.

I am taking Herbal Melange which is high in humic acids. Humic acids bind heavy metals as well. It is an interesting product - natural moor mud from Austria. Sounds odd but there is a ton of research behind humic acids and muds - 1000's of studies.

Go here and type in 'humic acid' and/or 'heavy metal'. You'll get about 440 studies when combined together.

Gotta go get some fresh pressed juice in me right now - going to have carrot, beet, celery, garlic and apple all in one. That ought to make my eyes see clearly.

Off to a lecture hall for 9 hours....

I really wonder how much toxic stuff is in there. Ill find out soon enough - hopefully by Wednesday.

At times I feel very flushed in my face, chest and my left knee got very hot as well. Odd that the knee got hot. It isn't at the moment. Sorry for this but the urine just absolutely reeks. Perhaps it is due to the sulfur components of DMSA - likely. At one point, in the inital hour before I began drinking plenty of water, the urine burnt.

Headache again coming...more water....

Im finding that I have to drink water basically constant otherwise headaches appear - and this one isn't relenting...more water...

When I say I drink water about every 10-20 minutes - that is 10 ounces. And yes - it is filtered of course. I use the Akai Ionizer Plus to filter my water.

The DMSA protocol is quite intense - and can get pretty expensive. I am wondering how many bottles I'll have to go through in order to be within the normal limits. I have a feeling that it is going to be many rounds...

Damn. The headache is coming again...I just drank 10 ounces a paragraph ago.

I'm going to get a dose of vitamin C also to help calm this down - along with n-acetylcysteine and another product to help purge this crap. I'll take a dose of the BioCleanse capsules...

What the hell? Now my right hamstring is twitching - now stopped. Ok - now I really gotta go get some water. Getting bad...

Im back. Just took a dose of BioCleanse, drank some more water, peed - again and drank some alfalfa tea. Alfalfa is high in minerals - not as high as red clover perhaps but it is what I have on hand.

The test I am doing comes from Doctor's Data Laboratory.

You can see the test I am doing here: Urine Toxic Metals.

A sample urine toxicology report is here: Sample Report

I recommend reading over those - both links - as they will inform you and educate you about what this test does and perhaps make you want to do it as well. I highly highly recommend that you see your doctor about possibly doing a heavy metal detox like this.

We all have heavy metals in us. It is only a matter of how much we have.

Not all people can tolerate a urine heavy metal challenge though. Their kindeys, liver and over elimination pathways - such as skin, bowels and bladder - must be functioning well. There is another option for people with kidney problems and that is to pull heavy metals from the fats and bile and into the stool. Then the lab can do a Fecal Metals test.

I may do a fecal metal test on my 3 yr old son as I really dont want heavy metals passing through his kidneys at such a young age.

That's enough information for now - plus my face is burning again and headache is coming back.

Ill keep you posted.

Any questions - do pop them into a comment and Ill answer. Ask away and dont worry about how to phrase the question - just ask it. Im gonna be a doc and already practicing as one in the teaching clinic so I already hear plenty of interesting questions.

I'll say this though - I've never had to drink so much water before to keep a toxic headache from coming back...this is absolutely intense. And quite frankly - sucks.

A point to remember - do not do the heavy metal 6 hour challenge around the hours of bedtime. If you fall asleep, you are not going to be pissing out the metals -they will be accumulating like mad in your bloodstream and who knows what severe harm they could do. Im actually surprised that this is not stated - I guess it is implied but I can easily see someone thinking that they could pop the 11 pills at 10pm, piss a couple times in the orange bucket and then go sleep and wake to pee by an alarm clock four five or six hours later. Dont. Im suffering a headache at 15 minutes - let alone hours. Plus the test would be skewed likely.

Anyhow - really gotta go - getting dizzy now.

I forgot today was the day that the clinic re-opened its doors for the first time in a new beauuutiful location. Damn - I guess naturopathic medicine is really moving on up in the world.

A patient at the check out desk said today, "Wow. I feel like I am at Group Health."

I told him, "Hey now."

Anyhow the visit was pretty much what I expected. A ton of questions and a prescription for DMSA. The questionnaire was specific for environmental toxicities and was 8 pages long. It took me about 40 minutes to fill it all out.

It would be cool to be tested for herbicides and pesticides but that test will be very expensive so I will only cleanse myself as I have them - as I do.

Did I tell you I got pesticides sprayed all over me by a tractor in New Zealand?

That I woke up in the morning as a kid from hearing the drone of a crop duster 100' above my room?

That as a landscaper I encountered yards sprayed all to hell?

That my mom used to flea bomb the hell out of our house year after year?

That herbicide/pesticide test will be expensive as they would have to biopsy my fat. There may be a few circulating pesticides/herbicides in my blood now due to the cleanse I am doing - especially due to the peat bath treatments - but it has been so long since the exposure that all the chemicals have made their home in my fat. Acute exposure, within a few weeks or even sooner, there will be more circulating chemicals in the blood than stored in the fat.

I made a wholesale order from Emerson Ecologics today for Vital Nutrient's DMSA 250mg. Emerson is a huge distributor of supplements used by ND's. They only sell to health professionals which makes sense - especially for something as potent as this stuff. Sweet being a student as I got free shipping and wholesale. Thank goodness as DMSA 250mg costs $115 retail for 1 bottle. Ouch.

My first dose will be in a few days - I have to wait a couple days before it arrives from EMerson. The doc told me to take 1 capsule and see how I feel. She says people may be allergic and best to take a trial dose before taking the large one. Thanks for that.

If I don't react negatively to it, and I doubt a reaction, I am told to take a pee, then take 11 capsules in one shot. After that, any time I urinate, it must be in that lovely orange can you see above. All urine over the next 6 hours of ingestion of DMSA get collected in there. Then sent to the lab and analyzed.

My next appointment is next week - hopefully. I am going to begin my 3 year old on a program as well - under physician supervision of course. It is especially dangerous for little kids as their kidneys and livers are so young. We will do blood tests to monitor their organs to ensure they are not being negatively effected. I am positive my little one is loaded with heavy metals as my wife is from Russia and grew up kiddie-corner to a weapons facility. She will go on it as well but not at the moment as she is breastfeeding our 8 month old. She has all the signs of environmental toxicity.

What are the signs of environmental toxicity?

sensitive to odors that others are not

such as carpeting, paint, gas, asphalt, pesticides, herbicides, solvents, etc

brain fog

unexplained sore joints and muscles

unexplained fatigue

allergic to tons of different foods

weakened immune function

odd skin stuff - recurring skin diseases or rashes that are unexplained

I am positive for many of the above. Luckily the brain fog isn't so bad for me - at least it hasnt been for the past year or two. But my allergies, weakened immune function and super sensitive to odors is enough to get me to want to challenge the heavy metals.
It will be interesting to see what the lab comes back with...let's hope something. Weird thinking but it would be cool to know that if I did have heavy metals, I am now going to get rid of them all and stop the continued harm of my being. If I am low in heavy metals, then I know most of my issues must be related to herbicides and pesticides - which is highly likely.

I have maintained my diet well again today. I do not plan to veer off it - no urges for crap food anymore. Cool how that happens. Make it to day 10 and the desire and cravings are gone. Very nice change. I see the chips and salsa there and all I can think of now is - damn those made me miserable.

I wish I could feel that way for good about crap food like that. But Im sure sometime in the future Ill be munching on those damn things again.

Tomorrow - another peat bath - intense one and enema in the morning. Perhaps one this evening instead. We shall see. The psyllium husk is doing its job.

I was quite tired all day though. Sleep is hard to come by lately which is not handy during such a detox protocol.

The day's summary:

very intense peat bath this evening,

another enema in the morning

maintained a good diet,

appointment tomorrow with a specialist in Environmental Medicine.

After my appointment tomorrow at the doctor, I will update you. Im hoping that it will be a productive appointment.

My peat bath was very hot today.

heart rate to 145 bpm.

internal temperature to 103.5!

That was intense. I had to get out of the tub at about 15 minutes and I could barely stand and dress into my long clothes. The amount I sweated out was also incredible.

Anyhow - something to sink your teeth into.

Im off to sleep.

I have been up very late at night as I have been working on developing a new version of my website [just a mockup design, not done]. My current website is all built by me - a complete novice - so the new one is a huge improvement. It is getting there and I am very excited about it. It is going to be gorgeous!

I kinda botched it this evening - and I got a raging headache for it.

My wife came home from the store with a ton of processed snack foods. I was tempted then not - then company came over and BAM. That shit filled my stomach.

Sucks

This brings up a major point actually.

When someone in the home is attempting to fast, detox, eliminate some food or addiction - do not have those substances in the house. Temptation is too strong and much harder when someone 2 feet away from you is munching on something processed and tasty while you are eating a piece of celery.

Not to say it is my wife's fault - not at all. I am to blame.

She told me, 'Ben. Don't do it."

My mind said, "You're right."

But my gut and facial nerve said, "Ah a bit won't kill me. I decided to do a full heavy metal detox so I deserve to binge a little."

So I ate my dinner of veggies and then cracked open a bag of chips, salsa and bean dip - all organic but ... it doesn't matter. It is processed food. I don't give a damn if sugar is organic - it is still processed like crazy.

Two hours later I'm sitting here with a nasty headache. And I never get headaches. So now I know that chips and salsa are pretty tough on my system.

I gulped down pure cranberry concentrate without sugar to help battle the effects. Ill need another here shortly as it didn't touch my headache.

Tuesday is arriving and I am ansy to make a call to get into seeing Dr Yin. I really want to know how full of heavy metals am I. Or do I?

Thinking about it - I bet I am.

I worked landscape construction for years and hiked for years with an aluminum pot. So I know that I must be loaded with:

solvents

PCBs

heavy metals and solvents from paint

herbicides

pesticides

arsenic and copper from treated lumber

I want them out. Gone. Flushed.

Flushed?

That's a problem isn't it? Flushed?

Ok - so I take DMSA and pee out all those metals. Where do they go? Into our lakes, rivers and oceans. Then we eat the fish again and re-ingest these metals.

I actually think it would be prudent to pee in a hazardous waste container and dispose of it properly. Imagine all the heavy metals being pulled out of people by docs? I shudder to think. It all adds up.

Perhaps Ill write to the government to have them mandate this. Am I nuts? Maybe but prevention of further enviromental damage is key to maintaining our health.

Think I'm full of it? Read this report by the Environmental Working Group.

To add further awareness to what is building up inside you, read: Body Burden also by the EWG.

You'll freak.

Tomorrow - another peat bath, enema and going to eat well...damn I messed this evening up with those chips.

But it's cool. I'll make it through.

I didn't dine at McDonalds this evening like 1,000,000+ of our fellow Americans did.

How much healthier we'd be without fast food. They say people eating fast food a couple times a week are at 5x greater risk in developing Crohn's disease. That is not a fun disease.

Don't eat fast food.

A good medical report tomorrow...not a mental one.

In all the enemas I have done in my life - about 15 I guess - this one had the best immediate result.

The clarity I got was amazing. It was like someone opened my head and poured a glass of pure mountain spring water on my brain. Seriously.

I haven't been taking psyllium husk for the past few nights and it is making a big difference. My bowels have not been moving well and they are not full in size - skinny in other words. Sounds sick and gross yes but it means something. It means that there is a lot of material left in my colon even after having a bowel moment. The enema this morning proved that. No wonder I felt better.

The psyllium husk adds bulk to the stool allowing it to stretch the colon and stimulate a bowel movement by peristalsis. I will definitely be taking it tonight - about 2 T with about 10oz of water.

By the way - if you find yourself constipated and with slender stools in the toilet, buy yourself some psyllium husk - it is very cheap. Trader Joes has it for about $4 for about a quart size. Don't waste your money on some fancy herbal laxatives without trying psyllium husk first.

Tonight I will take a peat bath. An intense one. I look forward to recording my temperatures. The last peat bath I did, the water temperature was not that hot. Yet I still managed to get my internal temperature up to 102F. I think I will buy a thermometer which will measure the temperature of the bath water.

In my research in whole body hyperthermia, I found what temperature of water stimulates what hormones - and also what times of day the bath effects them also.

My fellow balneotherapy colleague, Dr Yuko Agishi, MD of Japan, did the following research to discover the hormonal association between water temperature and time of day.

Anti-diuretic hormone [keeps you from peeing] increases at all bathing temperatures but most at 107F and 77F.

Growth Hormone: increases quite a bit at 107F and a little at 104 and 77

Cortisol: decreases a touch at 107, stays the same throughout others except increases at 77

There are many more but those are enough for you to start out with. Notice that Growth Hormone increases a lot at 107F - that is quite impressive. Now who needs to buy that expensive hormone when all you need to do is take a hot bath for 30 minutes a day!

Do not take a hot bath in the morning if you're a male looks like. That will lower your cortisol levels making you quite tired the rest of the day. It is cortisol which wakes you up in the morning.

I will update you on how the intense peat bath goes tomorrow. Tonight I will do it and keep track of the information that I glean from it.

I ate well today - no crap at all except a rice cake. It's processed but not processed corn and it is not salsa and bean dip. I am not going full hardcore diet restriction at the moment as Im preparing for the heavy metal detox mentally. I already emailed Dr Yin that I will be seeing her shortly and asked her for some pre-appointment information.

Going to finish my raspberry, BioCleanse and whey protein smoothie. Got to get my 86 grams of protein in me. A person needs about 0.8 - 1.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. So as I am 190, I need about 86 grams. I get about 30 grams per smoothie.

If you're looking for a simple detox protocol - you can try the BioCleanse protocol. It is easy to follow and has some good points. And I might add that Dr Wood, the ND who formulated BioCleanse was featured in the New York Times recently. Pretty cool that I preceptor with him. Handy having connections...

Anyhow - back to studying for clinic and finishing my smoothie.

Im going to dress my 3yr old and make ourselves a smoothie.

I decided that I am going to go see a naturopathic doctor who specializes in environmental toxicity - why not eh? Ive made it this far in the cleanse and now I can do it even more properly. I plan to do a heavy metal challenge where I take DMSA for a day and then a lab analyzes my urine for heavy metals. DMSA binds metals strongly. This procedure is no joke and can be dangerous if not overseen by a doctor. Kidneys and liver are the most likely organs to be damaged if not monitored well. So even though I know how to do the DMSA protocol - I cannot measure my levels self or maintain confidence that my liver and kidneys will remain healthy during it. So - Ill go see Dr Phoebe Yin at our teaching clinic.

I look forward to it.

Im also researching a TON on peat bath treatments and in hyperthermia treatments in general. The amount of research on them is staggering. Cancer, pain relief, heavy metal binding, stomach problems, sports medicine, arthritis and on and on it goes.

I must say the research regarding heat therapy and cancer is very exciting. Looks like my idea of opening a medical spa is going to be a good one after all. I cannot wait to graduate...

Anyhow youll be amazed that I got my temperature up to 102 degrees F last night by taking a peat bath and my heart rate was 132. My temperature 30 minutes after the bath was still at 100 degrees F. How cool is that?

Have I gone off my dietary restrictions a bit? Yes - I have and boy did I notice a problem. The tip of my tongue looks like I burnt it with a torch. Weird and painful. Gotta figure out what is causing this. It is either an allergy or a deficiency in vitamin B.

More details later - I gotta go eat.

Quite a bit of energy and my appetite has been very low. My body is getting used to not eating so much - or it is getting more efficient in utilizing the fuel I provide it - or both.

Yesterday I took a peat bath - a mild one. The water temperature was hot but not so hot it took forever to sit in it. I used about 1/3rd of a liter of peat also. It is wise to begin a series of peat baths with water not so hot and with a smaller amount of peat due to the potential intensity of treatment.

One's body must be used to hyperthermia - getting very hot - before shocking it with very hot water and a lot of peat. My next bath will likely be tomorrow and I will really ramp up the temperature and add about 1/2 a tube of peat.

It is also not wise to ramp up the temperature of the peat bath early in the detox as more toxins will be pulled from adipose and end up circulating in the bloodstream. As I did a mild treatment, the toxins that were circulating in my blood were encouraged out through my skin as I sweat a lot.

Tomorrow's bath will force my body to utilize more energy from my body as my heart rate will be going like mad from the heat and peat. The energy will be coming from my adipose stores as I have not been eating much - thus my toxic load will increase in circulation.

I am now ready for this intense treatment as I feel good. I do not have headaches. I do not have such fowl breath and my stools do not stink any more. Remember day 2? My god. Thank goodness that is gone.

I feel good for a number of reasons. Basic one is that I am not eating any crap foods - only whole foods and very limited to veggies, fruits, brown rice and protein powder with a liver support supplement, BioCleanse.

A more interesting one - for lack of a better description - is that I did an enema last night. This procedure removed all the waste material that was sitting on the walls of my colon. The walls of the colon are where water is normally absorbed - and toxins also if they are present.

My bowel movements yesterday were numerous and with ample amount each time. Amazing given that I haven't eaten much lately. But remember what I said before, stool is mainly bacteria anyhow.

Since my bowels were moving well, the enema was extra effective as the water had the ability to get all the up, over and down along my entire colon. I could literally feel it travel. It felt kinda odd. I don't remember ever feeling that before.

How did I prepare the enema?

I have a rubber enema bag that I bought from Russia a couple years ago. It holds about 2 liters of fluid. I filled it up with warm water from my shower. Why my shower? I have a chlorine filter there. The last thing I wanted to do during a detox is to directly absorb 2 liters of chlorinated water. I then added a pinch of salt to make it less harsh to my mucous membranes inside.

So if you do not have a chlorine filter, simply buy filtered water at a store and warm it in a pot - preferably stainless steel - not teflon.

My enema bag is gravity fed meaning that it hangs up high on something and when the hose is opened, water flows in at a rate determined by gravity. This is much safer than a pressurized system and I prefer it for a few reasons. [More on that at some point.]

I could only take a little water initially as my colon was spasmodic a bit from the cleansing herbs. When you feel the urge, do not try to hold it back - simply get up on the toilet and let it out.

Oh - and on my bathroom floor I had some warm towels laid out for comfort and for uh...spillage. What a fun topic Ben - my God - who is gonna read this?! But hey - for people who want to know how to do it - this is how I did it and Im not proud.

After a couple evacuations having taken 1 liter of water each time, I was able to take a full 2 liters of water no problem. So this means I refilled my bag again. I wish my enema bag was bigger so I could have filled my entire colon full of water which would clean it better. But it is fine - good enough. for now. I located some great enema kits in India and will be ordering them soon for my store. They hold more water and are medical grade.

Position for enema can be found online so no need to go into it - but basically on your knees, relaxed abdomen and head down allowing your torso to relax. Once the water is inside and your colon is relaxed - meaning it's not telling you to evacuate now - you simply remove the hose nozzle from your ..uh...butt and roll over onto your right side. I then put my legs straight up into the air along with my back - so basically a shoulder stand. This allows the water to rush down the length of the descending colon. I then twist my torso and bend my legs to I begin to lean towards the right. This allows the water to flow along my transverse colon. I then drop my legs and torso towards the right and lay on my right side in a comfortable fetal position on my towels. This allows the water to sit in the ascending colon and wherever else it goes. If you have a large capacity enema bag, then the water can be all along the colon - which is ideal.

Simply lay there until you feel the urge to evacuate. When you do - just relax and let it go. Since the water is all the way over in your ascending colon, you may have to massage your abdomen from right side to up to over and then down the left side. Look at the photo above and youll understand what I mean.

This allows the water to move about. I also recommend having your feet up which aligns your rectum and descending colon allowing easier passage of colon contents. I use this squat toilet device. It works very well for me. In fact, I use it every day and have been for the past 1.5 years. It makes bowel movements go very quickly without straining. Read about it.

If your abdomen doesn't feel empty, it isn't. If you don't feel an urge. Get up and simply walk around your bathroom a little bit and also squat down or bend over to touch your toes. Once you feel the urge again, go. Keep doing this until you feel you're empty.

I took my peat bath right afterwards. That worked out well actually as the water was filling while I was doing my enema. Doing the peat bath after also makes good sense as the toxin load was much less as I just flushed them out with the enema. So my peat bath treatment was more effective and without side effects of headache and nausea.

I am going to make an appointment with a naturopathic physician who specializes in environmental medicine. I plan on doing a full heavy metal protocol with her. Basically I will be prescribed DMSA which pulls out heavy metals. It is a dangerous product as it can hurt your kidneys and liver if not monitored properly. We will put me on it and check my blood and urine. We will measure output of heavy metals via my urine and if some is found, then we continue the treatment until none is found.

That's it for now - except for one last key point.

I ate some wheat free soy sauce today on my rice and bean soup. Bad move. One because it is a processed food and two because it contained soy. I reacted to it. Since my body has not had it for some time, my rash on my inside left food acted up and itched like crazy. The tip of my tongue also turned red almost immediately and still is a few hours later. It hurts. So - I know I need to avoid soy for sometime. Basically what I need to do is repair my gut and chill out. I'm quite a busy person and not much rest...

Speaking of which...

Till tomorrow - off to bed as I've gotta rise early and study for a exam for my pediatrics class.

Not a proper way to cleanse. But do what you gotta do - and I have to play raquetball in the mornings.

Diet is very restricted now. No beans, nuts, meats, breads of any kind. Im eating only brown rice, vegetables and fruits along with protein shake and the BioCleanse powder. I took some psyllium last night along with the Liver Cleanse product to help move my bowels.

When you change your diet so much, little sleep and change in patterns, one tends to get kinda backed up. So that is why I added 2 T of psyllium husk. If one does add psyllium, it is imperative that 8oz of water are drunk with each T to prevent constipation.

Changes:

breath is bad - doesnt matter how much I brush - my innards are releasing stuff and in the morning my teeth are covered with a layer larger than normal.

tongue is gaining a layer of yellow coating - sign of liver heat in chinese medicine. it is unloading and being overwhelmed by what is coming out of my adipose. i am going to have to do that enema tomorrow morning - no question.

enemas significantly and immediately reduce the toxic load in the colon and thus the reabsorption of toxins back into the blood stream.

that is also why i am taking psyllium as fiber like that binds toxins and helps pull them out.

urination - not peeing nearly as much as i did on day 1. remember that? i peed like every 1/2 hour mass amounts. nuts.

bowel movement - now this is not fun to read but i said id include everything so here goes

numerous - probably about 5 today - which is great as one does not want the released toxins being reabsorbed.

even though i dont eat much the volume is still there - and will always be - even if on a complete water fast as bacteria make up the bulk of stool mass.

odor - absolutely fowl. sorry to say but shit - it stunk. and i must add that it doesn't typically have much odor for me at all.

what the hell is coming out of there??

skin stuff - nothing yet.

peat bath - didn't do it today as im too exhausted. if i get some good rest tonight, ill do it tomorrow. i really need to as it will push the toxins right out of me as ill sweat like mad.

Tomorrow is another day of protein shakes, BioCleanse, vegetables, fruit, rice and water. This will be my diet for about 1.5 weeks. It is imperative that I continue to eat the protein powder cuz if I don't, Ill be eating my own muscle mass and that is not healthy.

I'm going to take a hit of Vitamin C - about 5 grams, drink plenty of water and take some more of the Liver Cleanse.

Tomorrow's events:

guaranteed enema - joy joy

guaranteed peat bath - decided im gonna do it - gotta.

Not noticing too much yet - give me a few more days and likely something curious will begin to appear - like nasty headaches and nausea. Sound fun?

Im preparing myself mentally for the enema that is destined to arrive - have to do it to flush out the colon as it is accumulating all the waste materials from my fat.

I took a shot of psyllium powder to encourage elimination. Ill likely take a product called Liver Cleanse by Sine Qua Non. Too bad the company doesnt make it any longer. Shame. I have a bottle or two laying around luckily.

Ill be taking a moor mud bath tomorrow - makes you sweat like crazy and pulls out the toxins from fat storage. Ill begin that series tomorrow and continue them for many days.

That will be an interesting update for ya. I think Ill weigh myself pre and post bath to see how much fluid Ill lose from sweat.

What do you wager? 2 pounds? 5 pounds? To give a clue: I'll likely sweat very hard for about 1.5 hours. [yes - its a pretty potent bathing experience]

I've got a bit of a headache coming on - gonna go pop some vitamin C. Those good old toxins are flushing into my bloodstream from my liver and adipose.

Why does toxic load begin to increase? Well - couple reasons.

Not eating much food that requires the liver to work hard - no meats, refined foods, fats, etc. This allows the liver to process metabolites and clean the blood instead of having to process foods.

Lesson - do not overeat as it causes liver stagnation and accumulation of crap in your system

sound like BS? try it for awhile and Ill guarantee the presence of gall stones. [please don't try!]

I am not eating much so I am beginning to run off of my fat stores - the little I have. [I'm 6'4" and 189 pounds]

When running off of fat stores, adipose is converted into useable fuel and the heavy metals, solvents and whatever else I have stored in fat enters into the bloodstream.

Lesson - do not lose weight fast as you'll not only accumulate high levels of circulating fat in your blood but also the stored toxins will enter into circulation. So if you've ever lost weight fairly quickly and noticed a headache, nausea, smelly sweat, diarrhea or vomiting, this a likely cause.

This is why one should be monitored by a doctor when fasting or cleansing. The stuff that enters into your blood from the fat is pretty hardcore. If you cannot eliminate well, you will remain sick and harm will be done.

Thus - it is vitally vital?! that all elimination channels are open and functioning well:

the skin

the nose

the kidneys

the intestines

If not, the toxins bioaccumulate once again - but only after they do some damage in circulation before they enter into the fat stores. Why do they enter into the fat stores? Because many toxins like heavy metals, solvents, pesticides are fat soluble.

I've really gotta get some Vitamin C - I'm beginning to really feel a nasty headache coming on.

Keep posted for the moor mud results tomorrow.

Make a wager - how many pounds of fluid will I lose?!

Two little kids. Two businesses. Wife recently had ankle surgery. Phew.

Now this?

Yep.

Detoxing is basically setting your mind to it. Once you do that, it's not too bad. I have pretty much done that bit but it is still quite a bit of work.

If any of you want to join me on this journey - by all means - dive in. Ill give you support and pointers along the way :)

Bed: 1230am after a night of goodbyes to my Russian inlaws - so quite a bit of vodka :)

Rise: 9am exhausted and late for my Sunday lecture - Public Health.

Breakfast: BioCleanse Medical Food Powder and Whey Protein shake, and a glass of water.

Lunch: homemade barley mushroom soup with steamed veggies and the same shake above.

Dinner: steamed asparagus, tomatoe and black beans and a tossed salad & same shake above.

Snacks: rice cake plain

Urges: to eat sugar were kinda there but not so bad. The urge was due to fatigue most likely and wanting someting with high caloric density.

Skin: today - way too early yet. Figure about day 14 and stuff may begin to appear.

Unusual occurences: ummm - well. I had to pee like every 30 minutes - a ton. Very odd. First time for me - it must be the BioCleanse really flushing out the stuff. Ill have to look at the ingredients again.

Mood: not too bad. just tired.

Dietary restrictions: no sugar, no processed foods, no red meat, no poultry, no dairy, no wheat. This list will get longer as I go.

Dietary emphasis: vegetables, fruits, whole grain foods, cold water wild fish [seldom], steamed vegetables, brown rice, seaweeds, protein powder [to maintain body mass] This list will get shorter as I go.

Elimination: just peed a lot - i mean a lot. I'll likely do an enema tomorrow. I used to weird out about these but they are very effective and not so bad. If you're cringing at the idea - well - give it a shot. I guess with me a med student and performing full colonics on patients, a simple enema bag is pretty damn easy. Side note: Im not such a fan of pressurized colonics. That's another topic but gravity fed is enough - dont need to blast your insides.

Ill start on the heavy metals in a few days. At the moment I'm eliminating what is circulating in my blood and limiting my toxic burden. It is not wise to go full bore right away as a huge headache will ensue and the body will be overwhelmed. One step at a time.

What to expect is the first few days being tough, then getting used to the routine. Then feeling great as you've made your digestive system go on vacation and your liver start going nuts in detoxing. After about a week, expect to feel like shit as heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, etc begin to come out of storage from fat cells and into your blood. Then it is a good time to tank up on antioxidants, liver phase 1 and 2 detoxification support and drink a ton of water.

I used BioCleanse before years ago on my first detox protocol. It was an incredible result. That is actually how I began to work for the company - yep - handy working for Biogenesis Nutraceuticals.

And once again: If any of you want to join me on this journey - by all means - dive in. Ill give you support and pointers along the way :) See - I want some support here folks!
