Living simply has its pluses and this is one.
Living the 'American Dream' stretches you thin financially and you have to work day in and day out in order to pay all the expenses.
This leads to fast foods, lack of exercise, increased stress, lack of sleep, lack of gathering with friends and lack of vacation.
This leads to ill health, heart attacks, high blood pressure and loss of friends and family.

Keep only the things which make you happy and whatever else - needs to go away.
I truly don't think 6 cars, a 4,000 sq ft home, a vacation home and fancy clothes and jewelry are making people happy.
