I have an good background in medicine myself. I know some treatments can work to relieve pain and symptoms. I was curious about your wording suggesting you "cured" fibromyalgia in a patient. I would like to see your research in this area or the studies you have seen as I have not come across any such study.


My RESPONSE:
FMS (fibromyalgia) is a complicated condition and each patient presents differently. Their causes may be different yet their symptoms are the same. I do not treat symptoms - I treat patients.

It is not about reducing pain or reducing fatigue, it is about restoring proper function to the body and eliminating the cause of the problem. I simply find the cause of the problem, remove it, provide support and then patients are better.

You treat symptoms of a FMS patient and you will be run around in circles and so will they. Dont treat the symptoms. Treat them.

According to Swiss researchers, caffeine taken in prior to exercise lessens the blood flow through the heart.

This is not handy as during exercise, muscles need increased blood flow to provide oxygenation, nutrients and removal of metabolites.

There was not a noticeable difference in coronary blood flow in caffeine drinkers who just sat around - only during exercise.

The Swiss researchers said however that their research could also “raise safety questions in patients with reduced coronary flow reserve, as seen in coronary artery disease, particularly before physical exercise and at high-altitude exposure".

I am a recipient of Dr. Dan's Alternative Fuel Werks newsletter. He recently sent out this information on Biodiesel and winter weather. I am dreaming to get a biodiesel vehicle in the coming months - likely a converted Volkswagon Passat - hopefully. The Passat has excellent mileage and high ratings on Consumer Reports - problem is...expensive.

Quick tidbit: Eating a high sugar snack or meal will limit your immune system tremendously for about 2 hours. High sugar also means simple carbohydrates. It does not mean complex carbohydrates - such as fiber.

Why does this happen:
Good question. I've been resesarching why this happens and I'm finding it difficult to find a clear cut answer. However, I did find research proving that sugar does indeed limit the immune system.

One study concludes: "Acute, short-term hyperglycemia affects all major components of innate immunity and impairs the ability of the host to combat infection"

Bottom Line:
It's Fall. It's windy. It's getting cold. Limit sugar. Stay healthy.

Splenda is everywhere. I visit Costco at times and I see people load their shopping cart with 3 huge Splenda cases with big smiles on their faces. Ouch. My stomach turns at the thought.

Just because the FDA approved it doesn't mean Splenda is safe. Nor does it mean NutraSweet is safe (aka Aspartame). But that is a whole other ball of wax.

Sugar is sugar. Splenda is not sugar. Splenda is actually a chemically created product that uses substances such as chlorine.

Nothing is natural about that. People pay money to filter chlorine from their drinking water, shower water and even bathing water. So why would you want to go ahead and add chlorine to your drink and into your body? Don't.

The government uses chlorine in our drinking water as it is a matter of risk:benefit. They cannot have you drinking mass bacteria and dying. It is also not practical to filter chlorine from water coming into your house. It doesn't matter that you wash your car with chlorine or your clothes.
