• Ayurvedic Medicine

One of the world's oldest medical systems is Ayurvedic Medicine, also known as Ayurveda. Ayurveda originated thousands of years ago in India, and the term combines the Sanskrit words for life (ayur), and science or knowledge (veda). To put it simply, Ayurvedic means "the science of life".

Ayurvedic medicine integrates the body, mind, and spirit to help prevent illness and promote wellness. Ayurvedic treatments are tailored to each person's constitution (or prakriti), and may require changes to diet, lifestyle, and habits.

Ayurveda also takes into consideration Interconnectedness: health will be good if one's mind and body are in harmony, and disease arises from disharmony with the universe.

A balance in a person's life force, or dosha, is also related to the state of the physical body. The three doshas, vata, pitta, and kapha, are made up of basic elements like fire, water, and earth, and has a relationship to a particular bodily function.
