  • Hi Kathleen, The Lypo Spheric products should never be put in a blender. This could destroy the liposome and compromise the effectiveness of the vitamin. However, the vitamins work synergistically, so for optimal results it is recommended to take all 3 at the same time in one beverage. Juice and water is fine, simply mix together with a spoon.   • Hello - Dosing recommendations I cannot provide. However, I can state that you will likely have much better vitamin C absorption by using Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C than you would using buffered vitamin C. Consider using 1 packet of Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C per 5 grams of buffered vitamin C. That would make it about 5 to 6 packets of Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C a day. The only way Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C would upset your stomach is if you have difficulty absorbing fats. If you have troubles eating fatty foods, heavy foods, bacon, eggs, fried foods or oils and nuts, then you may have trouble with 6 packets a day of Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C. A way around that would be to supplement with 1 capsule of Taurine daily with food. Taurine by Seeking Health supports healthy bile flow and liver function thereby increasing fat absorption which in turn decreases stomach upset and problems from fatty foods and fatty supplements. It doesn't mix well so they may not like the consistency. Each child is different though - especially if you tell them it makes them healthy and strong! The Optimal Vitamin C tastes great and kids usually enjoy it - just use less. Use about 1/2 scoop in a glass of water and then put into their water bottle. They'll drink throughout the day. If they get loose stools from it, simply reduce the dose.   • I am a sixty-six year old man who was diagnosed with shingles about 10 days ago. My dermatologist recommended an anti-viral medication, but I was afraid to take it because I maintain a good diet, supplement with vitamins, and prefer natural methods. Perhaps I should have heeded her advice since I have since learned about a possible complication called post herpetic neuralgia. At this point, though, it is too late to get any benefit from the drug.
    
    Still, I understand that Dr. Levy, Dr. Cathcart and several others have successfully treated this problem with intravenous vitamin C. Though I normally take only about 1/2 to 1 gram a day, I have increased the dosage to 4 or 5 grams. Even so, I would like to do more to improve my chances. I am thinking about starting a regimen with lypo-Spheric vitamin C and anything else that might help. I am very disciplined and will do whatever it takes to overcome this condition. Any thoughts?

  • Someone mentioned using a retention enema if they cannot swallow the Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C. I thought that is a great idea. Simply add a few packets of Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C to a cup of water, mix well and place into an enema bucket. .Insert the solution into your rectum safely and hold as long as you can - 20 minutes should suffice.

  • We believe that my best friend has Lyme Disease-she has every symptom. We are not getting any help from the conventional medical community so I have been doing research on line. If you ingest 8400 mg of vitamin C at once, you'll only be getting about a tenth of it absorbed. The body can only absorb so much vitamin C at any one time.   • Many people with interstitial cystitis cannot take vitamin C because the acidic nature hurts their bladder. I wonder if this is a way around it. I also wonder if the liposomes actually reach the bladder. Just curious because a study that instilled a liposome encapsulated medication directly into the bladder (by catheter) found that the liposomes themselves had a positive effect on the bladder. Always looking for something for this awful condition.

  • I've been mixing it by pouring it into a glass, adding about 1oz of juice, and blending it with a spoon until it gets mixed into a paste-like consistency, then adding several more ounces of juice and blending with a spoon further so it's mixed almost evenly. Is this okay? I know it says not to use a blender, so I am wondering if I am making it less effective by making it into a paste consistency.

    Why would one take Oral Vitamin C with Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C ? My understanding is that oral Vitamin C can only raise the blood level of Vitamin C a very small percentage as well as Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C.
    
    If that's true, then the benefit of adding such a small amount to the blood level is minimal, at best.... Am I missing something?
    
    Also, what are the "normal" and "high" end ranges of an adult dose of Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C? (high end being someone trying to reach blood levels comparable with very high dose IV Vitamin C)

  • Hello - It is not necessary to take other forms of vitamin C while taking Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C. It is true that traditional vitamin C can raise blood vitamin C levels only so much. Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C is more useful because of the liposomes. These liposomes allow the vitamin C to penetrate into cells thereby protecting them against oxidation - and also absorb into the liver much more effectively where it then helps recycle glutathione. I typically recommend people to take Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C throughout the day rather than take a bunch at once. This way you are loading up your blood and cellular levels of vitamin C continuously throughout the day vs taking a bunch at once which may not absorb - thereby being expensive and wasteful. I know some people take upwards of 25 packs daily of Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C - again - recommended to space throughout the day. I am not sure what levels are needed in order to match high dose IV vitamin C. You also have to realize that Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C works differently than IV vitamin C because of the liposomes allowing greater cellular penetration and liver take-up. Best Dr Ben

  • I understand that the uptake for lypo-spheric vitamin C is superior than taking an equal amount of ascorbic acid crystals in a glass of juice. However, it doesn't seem like 1,000-2,000mg is very much, even with the improved uptake. Wouldn't I receive the same benefit of lypo-spheric vitamin C simply by taking an increased amount of vitamin C crystals, say, 3-5,000mg?

  • Hi Jim - I do not have the exact studies of absorption of vitamin C. Please contact Livon Labs for exact information on this. Vitamin C is an odd nutrient. You cannot simply take more to get more. If you take more, you'll likely just get a laxative effect.   • hi! does chocolate have an effect on the working of lypo spheric vitamin c? i have neurofibromatosis 2 and have been taking 5-6 packets a day for about a week now to (hopefully) help shrink my many tumors in my neck, spine and head. i enjoy milk chocolate and have some a couple of hours after the lypo spheric vitamin c. i had a bad headache the other day but, i get them anyway from time to time. i also have had a few bouts of loose bowels. or is this a sign it's trying to heal? i also had sharp shooting pain, like a gun going off on my lower spine when i first started taking this but, that has since ceased.

Use speaker phones on your cell, keep it away from your head and also use corded phones - not cordless.     It all depends on the individual and the severity of the viral load and inflammation. 

    I would consider taking 1 packet every 2 hrs as it is better to take vitamin C in smaller amounts yet more frequently. Given the difficulty of opening so many packets throughout the day, consider taking 1 teaspoon of Optimal Liposomal Vitamin C every 2 hrs.

    I'd also consider taking:- Liver Nutrients: consider taking 1 capsule with each meal - breakfast lunch and dinner.- Optimal Turmeric: consider taking 1 capsule with each meal - breakfast lunch and dinner- NAC: consider taking 2 capsules with lunch and 2 capsules with dinner

    Eating liver supportive foods such as beets, garlic, onions, kale, artichoke, asparagus - are all excellent as well for your liver.

     Applying a Castor Oil Pack over your liver once to twice daily for 45 minutes may really support your liver as well.

    No, Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C will not raise the acidity of your body. Due to its liposomal construction the Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C has a pH level of 6.5, which is almost neutral.

  • Dear Ben, I just read Doctor levy's book primal panacea. It arrived the very afternoon after i went through a horrendous ordeal with complications having a root canal. My mouth was open for 5 hours, and he did 14 injections of novacaine because i cannot take epinephrine. I was swollen and very bruised through my whole cheek, and a day later he put me antibiotics to which I am still very bruised 6 days later, a lttle swollen yet, and after I had read this book when I had returned home, i saw the ROOT CANAL information. I have been extremely stressed over this and talked to the dentist, whom of course tells me that poisons will not be in my system with a root canal. I have old mercury fillings too. And currently just ordered a product to help me quit smoking. I am 54 years old, and take numerous supplements and one of which is a glutathione patch from LifeWave, also a beauty supplement that has glutathione in it at night before bed. My patches worked beautifully till after a root canal was performed 2 years ago, and since that time, I have had many medical issues come up, and i am now disabled with cervical spine issues. I am on opiates of about 175mg's a day and xanax about 1.5 mgs a day. I have 2 small children one of which is disabled with severe autism and requires everything be done for him. I am all my kids have. No family,no help, and have not had a break from my kids in 10 years. I am very frightened now for my health after learning about root canals. I had to take out a very large loan that will cost me 200.00 per month for 4 years just for my dental work now. And im on disablilty. Could you please tell me about taking glutathione with the v-c, versus the patch, and what can I do now if m unable to have rootcanals taken out and have to live with this until lots more money becomes available. How long does it take for rootcanals to have horrible effects on you, and how much glutathione supplementaion can one take per day? Can i take with the patch? Doc levy does not explain in his book just how much v-c for someone like me to take, and will it do me any good with rootcanals? Sorry for all this, Im just very frightened now, and scared of dying leaving my babies with no parent. Please advise if possible on both things.

    Sorry to hear about your situation.

    I do want to recommend you to American BioDental in Mexico. They are a group of dentists taught by Hal Huggins, DDS and offer biological dentistry for a lot less money. I have had dental work done there and so has my wife.

    Regarding your root canals - I do recommend getting them taken out - when you can. Amercian BioDental may have a payment plan for you - and they will charge much less than dentists here in the USA would.

    I'd start out with the Liposomal Vitamin C by Seeking Health. It is a lot easier to take than the Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C as you don't have to open all those little packets and the taste is superior. Consider taking 1 tsp three times daily between meals - upon rising, midday and before bed.

    The Liposomal Glutathione by Seeking Health is more potent than the Lypo-Spheric GSH and is also easier to use. You may use both glutathione and vitamin C if you feel better while taking them. You may take them at the same time. I would start out with a small amount of Liposomal Glutathione - and work upwards from that. Consider taking 1/4 teaspoon to start and every few days, you may increase by 1/4 tsp if you are tolerating it well.

    You may also do well with vitamin B12 and methylfolate. Consider taking 1/2 tablet of Sublingual Active B12 with Metafolin in the AM before breakfast. If you tolerate it well for a few days, take another 1/2 tablet before lunch. If you do well with this amount, you may consider increasing to a full tablet in the AM and if tolerated, increase the afternoon amount to 1 tablet as well. Again - only if tolerated move up in amount taken.

    I have not seen this data.

    Vitamin C is a known antioxidant and supports the immune system - and also increases production of glutathione. There have not been studies linking Lypo Spheric Vitamin C to shrinking tumors.

    I do recommend the non-hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine over the other.

    Hydrogenated anything is not as good as non-hydrogenated.
