Without Carnitine fats cannot be burned for energy. Without energy, cells become weak or die. Because of this optimizing Carnitine levels has been found to have dramatic benefits for low energy, obesity, and fatigue. Controlled trials have demonstrated that Carnitine promotes optimal fat burning by the mitochondria. Carnitine also helps promote heart health, maintenance of healthy cholesterol levels, and sports endurance and recovery.

Designs for Health uses carnitine tartrate and carnitine magnesium citrate sourced from Switzerland. This is the only carnitine guaranteed to be free of the impurity D-carnitine. D-carnitine may interrupt the function and effectiveness of Lcarnitine in the body. Carnitine Tartrate powder is a superb value. It has a pleasant tart taste and mixes well with liquids. It is highly recommended for those needing higher doses of carnitine.

    • Carn/Tart is to be taken on an empty stomach. Can it also be mixed with D-Ribose powder at the same time?

Can it be mixed with juice or, must it be in water only?

Can it also be ingested with Co-enzyme Q-10 and/or other supplements?

      Thank you,

    • Hi Renee - Carnitine Tartrate must be taken on an empty stomach - correct - or away from food by 30 minutes at least. It may be mixed with D-Ribose - that is not a problem. The issue with Carnitine is that it is an amino acid which is more difficult to absorb when eating other proteins. Thus, the need to eat it away from meals or on an empty stomach. Ribose is a sugar and that is easily absorbed with or without meals and may be combined with basically anything. CoQ10 has to be taken with a meal as it is fat-based. If you don't take CoQ10 with a meal, you are not going to absorb it well. You may take CoQ10 with other supplements as long as they require food. CoQ10 and Fish Oil is a great combination as that helps the CoQ10 absorb even better. Any oil is great to take with CoQ10 - vitamin D3, vitamin A, vitamin E and so on. In health, Dr Ben
