Hypertension
As your heart beats, it pumps blood and pushes it throughout the body by exerting a force against the blood vessel walls. This force is called blood pressure. Normal blood pressure levels are around 120/80 mmHg.
Hypertension occurs when blood pressure becomes persistently elevated. Cells may be deprived of nutrients and oxygen due to inadequate blood flow, leading to damaged tissues and organs.
