Magnesium and vitamin B6 assist hundreds of metabolic processes in your body. If any one of these processes is not fueled by active magnesium or the active form of B6, symptoms appear.
Symptoms of magnesium/ B6 deficiency include:
Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal muscle and nerve functions and strong bones; regulates blood sugar and blood pressure, keeps the heart rhythm steady, and supports the immune system. Most Americans do not get the daily recommended amounts of magnesium.
The digestive system and kidneys can effect magnesium levels, as it is absorbed in the intestines and then transported through the blood to cells and tissue. Gastrointestinal disorders such as Crohn's disease, chronic or excessive vomiting and diarrhea, and gluten sensitive enteropathy can effect magnesium absorption.

Dr. Ben Lynch, founder and Chief Medical Officer of Seeking Health, is a naturopathic physician. While majoring in Cell and Molecular biology at the University of Washington, Dr. Ben took a trip through the South Pacific and Southeast Asia that changed his outlook on traditional medicine, and his life.
During this trip, Dr. Ben hiked through the forests, mountains and coasts of Tasmania, worked a cattle ranch in the Outback of Australia, and volunteered with Mother Theresa in Calcutta. He lived in Fiji with a family having no electricity or plumbing, experienced the Himalayan Mountains of Northern India, worked a fruit orchard in New Zealand, and returned to America with an impression of a different form of medicine than he had ever experienced with his mainstream medical education.
This profound experience led Dr. Ben to Bastyr University, and he studied the Mind-Body Connection, Environmental Medicine, Functional Medicine, and Epigenetics.
Dr. Ben saw the huge need for people to obtain foundational nutrients, and Seeking Health was born. Without foundational nutrients, biochemical dysfunction occurs and causes symptoms. Doctor after doctor and person after person do not understand the absolute requirement for our bodies to have the tools to maintain function.
“If one supports their bodily systems, especially their digestion and mental health, with pure, highly absorbable, well-formulated nutrients, the ability to remain healthy and vital significantly increases. We want your foundation rock solid and we provide the tools to do so.”
-Dr. Ben Lynch, founder of Seeking Health

Most magnesium supplements just go right through you - not this one. I love taking it at night as it helps for a good nights sleep. Taking before bed and maybe a few raw almonds and I sleep like a baby.

Hello there,
The vitamin B6 in this product is typically used for many kinds of gastrointestinal disorders, Irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, depression, stress, anxiety, nervousness, restless leg, muscle cramping, inadequate concentration and focus, and autism. The magnesium is used to assist vitamin B6 in brain function and neurotransmitter production. With that said, treating hypothroidism does include consuming adequate magnesium, but treatment includes more than simply taking one nutrient. A person needs to consider Iodine, Selenium, Magnesium, and Zinc.
If you take the Magnesium Plus and have pretty significant stress and anxiety, are unable to sleep well and deeply at night, try taking 1-2 capsules in the morning and 1-2 capsules at night before bed. It should not keep you up. It will help calm you down. If have some stress, reduce dosage to 1 capsule per day. If that doesn’t do the job, gradually increase dosage. Please talk to your doctor about any and all supplements you take.

Hello -
Magnesium Plus is excellent to take for depression, PMS and related symptoms. It is ok to take for years - daily.
If you are getting too much vitamin B6, your body will tell you by preseting you with a tight-banded headache.
Inositol is also a fantastic nutrient for anxiety and PMS. Consider taking 1 scoop in a glass of water upon rising in the AM and another scoop before lunch in a glass of water.
Vitamin E, at 400 IU, may also be supportive of healthy emotions.
In health,
Dr Ben
