Seeking Health Optimal Vitamin E, 100 softgels

Vitamin E is an important fat-soluble antioxidant nutrient that plays a key role in many functions throughout the body. It helps support immune function, prevent oxidation of LDL cholesterol, and protect against free radical damage to cell membranes.

Vitamin E Benefits:

Vitamin E and Free Radicals: Free radicals are unstable molecules formed in the body as by-products of metabolism and exposure to environmental factors, including cigarette smoke and ultraviolet light. Vitamin E can intercept free radicals and thus stabilize and protect cell membranes and tissues sensitive to oxidation, such as the eyes, lungs, arteries, and skin.

Optimal Vitamin E scavenges free radicals and basically neutralises them, so they don’t damage the tissues and red blood cells. Experts hope that vitamin E might turn out to be a lifesaver for millions of people at risk of serious diseases. So far, the results of their experiments are promising.

Vitamin E and Skin: Neutralizing free radicals is just one useful function of Optimal Vitamin E. Vitamin E plays a key role in reproductive function and hormonal balance (it may be especially helpful for treating premenstrual syndrome); it’s also vital for proper immune function, DNA repair and a whole host of other metabolic processes. It regulates your retinol (vitamin A) level, which is essential for healthy skin, mucous membranes and proper vision, and it may help skin recover from acne scarring and reduce the appearance of stretchmarks.

Vitamin E and Chrohns Disease: We can all benefit from making sure our vitamin E levels stay at a healthy level. But people suffering from Crohn’s disease (an inflammatory bowel condition) or cystic fibrosis (an inherited disease that affects the lungs, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and liver) may especially need vitamin E, because these conditions affect normal nutrient absorption.

Vitamin E, Heart and Arteries:  Preliminary research has shown that vitamin E may help prevent or delay coronary heart disease, and it probably does this by preventing the oxidisation of cholesterol. When cholesterol is oxidised, it turns into “bad” cholesterol and starts clogging up the arteries. Over time, the situation degenerates and the result can eventually be a heart attack or stroke. Vitamin E also may help prevent the formation of blood clots, which could lead to a heart attack.

Vitamin E and Cancer: Tests are still underway, but because antioxidants such as vitamin E seem to help protect cell membranes against the damaging effects of free radicals, scientists are hoping they can also help the body avoid diseases like cancer. They probably do this by preventing the development of nitrosamines, carcinogens which form in the stomach from nitrites eaten in food. In addition, the fact that vitamin E boosts immune function can also only help. Evidence from tests shows people with a higher intake of vitamin E sometimes have a lower incidence of prostate cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer. Plus, The American Cancer society has released results from a long-term study of nearly one hundred thousand adults across the United States. They discovered that people who regularly consumed a vitamin E supplement for longer than 10 years had a reduced risk of death from bladder cancer.

Vitamin E and cataracts: Cataracts are abnormal growths in the lens of the eye, which cloud vision and can lead to blindness. Scientists are looking at antioxidants to see whether they can help prevent or delay cataract growth. So far, their tests have shown that lens clarity, which is used to diagnose cataracts, was better in regular users of vitamin E supplements.

Seeking Health Optimal Vitamin E

Seeking Health Optimal Vitamin E contains 100% natural vitamin E. Scientific evidence suggests the natural form of vitamin E is more active and better absorbed than synthetic forms. The “d” form of vitamin E is natural, while the “dl” form is synthetic. For maximum benefit, this product is free of synthetic vitamin E.

Supplies all four vitamin E tocopherol isomers : Natural vitamin E occurs as d-alpha, d-beta, d-delta, and d-gamma forms called tocopherol isomers. Optimal Vitamin E contains all four natural tocopherol forms to deliver vitamin E’s full spectrum of antioxidant activity and non-antioxidant effects that favorably influence inflammatory responses and blood vessel formation.

Provides potent amounts of d-alpha tocopherol: The d-alpha tocopherol form of vitamin E is the only form that is actively regulated and intentionally retained in the body. It helps balance inflammatory responses in white blood cells, regulates vascular tone, assists blood clotting mechanisms, and rotects tissues from oxidative damage.

Includes a high content of gamma-tocopherol: While most of the benefits of vitamin E were previously attributed to alpha-tocopherol, recent research has identified important benefits for gammatocopherol. Due to its different chemical structure, gamma-tocopherol can help scavenge both reactive nitrogen and oxygen species that can cause damage to proteins, lipids, and DNA. Research suggests it may also favorably modulate inflammatory responses and provide support for healthy cardiovascular and prostate function. Each Optimal Vitamin E softgel provides approximately 195 mg of gamma-tocopherol for broad physiological benefit.

Hypoallergenic: Optimal Vitamin E has been specifically formulated to be highly bioavailable and is derived from highly refined soy oil. All traces of soy protein have been removed for maximum tolerance by those sensitive to soy. It is also free of other common allergens including milk/casein, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat/gluten, corn, and yeast.

Optimal Vitamin E softgels contain 400 IU of vitamin E as d-alpha tocopherol and mixed tocopherols (d-beta, ddelta, and d-gamma). Vitamin E amounts in excess of 1,500 IU per day may impair blood clotting. Each softgel provides approximately 195 mg of gamma-tocopherol, 78 mg delta-tocopherol, and 6 mg beta-tocopherol.

Suggested Use: 1 softgel daily with food

About Seeking Health, the company

Dr. Ben Lynch, founder and Chief Medical Officer of Seeking Health, is a naturopathic physician. While majoring in Cell and Molecular biology at the University of Washington, Dr. Ben took a trip through the South Pacific and Southeast Asia that changed his outlook on traditional medicine, and his life.

During this trip, Dr. Ben hiked through the forests, mountains and coasts of Tasmania, worked a cattle ranch in the Outback of Australia, and volunteered with Mother Theresa in Calcutta. He lived in Fiji with a family having no electricity or plumbing, experienced the Himalayan Mountains of Northern India, worked a fruit orchard in New Zealand, and returned to America with an impression of a different form of medicine than he had ever experienced with his mainstream medical education.

This profound experience led Dr. Ben to Bastyr University, and he studied the Mind-Body Connection, Environmental Medicine, Functional Medicine, and Epigenetics.

Dr. Ben saw the huge need for people to obtain foundational nutrients, and Seeking Health was born. Without foundational nutrients, biochemical dysfunction occurs and causes symptoms. Doctor after doctor and person after person do not understand the absolute requirement for our bodies to have the tools to maintain function.

  • • Without water, we die.
  • • Without food, we die.
  • • Without probiotics, we get digestive disorders.
  • • Without multivitamins, we become depressed, fatigued and sick.

“If one supports their bodily systems, especially their digestion and mental health, with pure, highly absorbable, well-formulated nutrients, the ability to remain healthy and vital significantly increases. We want your foundation rock solid and we provide the tools to do so.”

-Dr. Ben Lynch, founder of Seeking Health

Seeking Health believes that the root cause for many health conditions and supplements stem from ineffective digestion, environmental exposures, poor diet, and lack of a healthy social outlet and inlet.

  • • Once digestion is restored and optimized with the best probiotics, digestive enzymes, stomach acid and intestinal repair nutrients, one is able to absorb nutrients from foods and high quality multivitamins.
  • • Once environmental exposures are reduced, one is able to reduce toxic burden which then frees up nutrients to work in promoting health and preventing disease.
  • • Once diet is optimized, nutrients flood in, energy increases, blood sugar stabilizes and the immune system balances.
  • • Creating a social outlet and inlet allows the parasympathetic nervous system to regain control over the reactive sympathetic nervous system, allowing countless nutrients to be used proactively and in a protective manner instead of being wasted on producing stress hormones.

Seeking Health is here to see you get better, and stay better. Their true passion is prevention.

Seeking Health is based in Bellingham, Washington and operated and managed by a team dedicated to bringing you better health through the best quality supplements, prebiotics, probiotics, and multivitamins.

Seeking Health brings you effective formulas produced without preservatives, colors, titanium dioxide, coloring, or gluten.

  • Seeking Health Product for Acne at 3/20/12 9:31 AM
    • Hi Dr. Lynch hope you and your family are doing well. Which of your products do you recommend for acne for a 13 year old? He has a breakout of pimples on his forehead and a couple of blackheads on his nose. He has been using Neutrogena for a couple of weeks but I don't know if its helping. Thank you so much for your help.

      Cathy
    • Hi Cathy - I recommend evaluating his diet, soaps and lifestyle also - as I'm sure you are. Few things here: - Chlorine shower filter as chlorine is very damaging to the skin and increases oil production http://www.healthegoods.com/premium-shower-filter-new-wave-enviro.html - Heviz Moor Mud Mask - apply twice daily - AM and PM for 15 minutes and then wash off http://www.healthegoods.com/moor-mud-mask-100-ml-torf.html - ProBiota Sensitive - 1 capsule nightly after dinner http://www.healthegoods.com/probiota-sensitive.html - Liver Nutrients - 1 capsule WITH dinner to support his liver which is typically bogged down in skin issues http://www.healthegoods.com/liver-nutrients-60-vegetarian-capsules-seeking-health.html - Optimal Fish Oil - 2 capsules with any meal of the day to help reduce inflammation and provide healthy cell membranes http://www.healthegoods.com/optimal-fish-oil-60-softgels.html - Optimal Multivitamin Chewable - 1 tablet with breakfast and 1 with lunch http://www.healthegoods.com/optimal-multivitamin-60-chewable-tablets-seeking-health.html - Vitamin D360 - 10 drops once weekly - to support immune system, hormone production and healthy skin http://www.healthegoods.com/vitamin-d360-by-seeking-health.html Most of these recommendations he needs on a daily basis - whether he has acne or not. The only specific product here which he can stop once his acne goes away is the Heviz Moor Mud Mask. Some things to consider: - Evaluate his shampoo and switch to something very natural and easy on the skin/hair - Stop wearing baseball hats - Evaluate soap and use a more natural soap with neem http://www.healthegoods.com/vanilla-neem-hand-made-bar-soap-2-75-ounce-auromere.html These suggestions should IMMENSELY for him. Keep me posted ;) Best Dr Ben
