STRESS FACTOR NATURAL MOOD & EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FORMULA

  • A blend of nutrients and amino acids to nutritionally support an increased parasympathetic neurological response
  • Support for a balanced healthy emotional expression
  • Antistress, moodmodulating benefits

STRESS FACTOR is an excellent choice for nutritional support for an increased parasympathetic neurological response.

PYRIDOXAL 5’-PHOSPHATE (Vitamin B6) is involved in the metabolism of amino acids and glycogen and is a coenzyme in the synthesis of nucleic acids and hemoglobin. B6 is a necessary cofactor for DOPAdecarboxylase whose activity is responsible for the production of dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine from tyrosine. It also acts as a cofactor for 5HTP decarboxylase which is involved in the synthesis of serotonin from tryptophan. B6 is also closely related to B12 and folate metabolism and therefore supports healthy methylation reactions and a reduction in homocysteine levels. Reduced homocysteine levels are associated with improved cardiovascular and neurological health.

L-THEANINE is a non-protein amino acid found naturally in Camellia sinensis (green tea). L-theanine has mood-modulating activity and modest antioxidant activity. Its effects on mood modulation may be through direct effects on GABA receptors or through affects on the metabolism and release of other neurotransmitters, such as dopamine. Another benefit of L-theanine is its ability to enhance alpha wave activity of the brain. Alpha waves have a mood-modulating benefit while maintaining alertness.

GABA (Gamma amino butyric acid) is an inhibitory amino acid that acts directly as a neurotransmitter. GABA, like L-theanine, has mood-modulating activity and anti-stress benefits.

INOSITOL is also a lipotropic agent. As such, it may help protect against increases in total cholesterol and fatty acids in the liver.Inositol favorably supports nervous system health. It seems to balance moodsand emotions and posses adaptogenic properties.

LITHIUM is present in the human diet in ultratrace amounts and is found in some natural mineral waters and colloidal minerals. Fish, processed meat, milk, milk products, eggs, potatoes, and vegetables are rich sources of this mineral. It has been suggested that lithium, at low dosage levels, has a generally beneficial effect on human behavior. High prescription doses are often prescribed for its mood-stabilizing effects. • stress x at 8/24/11 4:49 PM
    • what are the side effects of taking stress x and is dry eyes one of the side effects?
    • I would not think that Stress X causes dry eyes. The doses of all the nutrients are quite safe so I do not expect any side effects. If you took too much, I expect you may feel a bit too relaxed and perhaps even sleepy. Dry eyes may be due to low vitamin A, low EPA/DHA, chlorine exposure (shower, pool, water) and perhaps also air conditioning to name a few. Consider obtaining Optimal Fish Oil capsules to support eye health and a chlorine shower filter. In health, Dr Ben

  • Stress X Question at 3/5/12 9:00 AM
    • Ever since I started taking Stress x, I feel on the verge of tears constantly. I have been very weapy. Is this what it means to have an "increased parasympathetic nervous system?" Is this a good thing in the sense that I am letting go of emotions that are making me uptight and stressed? I feel like I am in a deeper valley. Or perhaps, this is not the right supplement for me?

      Thank you,

      Allison
    • Hi Allison - I do not think this is the right product for you. Stress X is great at reducing stress in acute moments - such as before going on stage to perform, speak to a crowd or tend to 30 kids on a play date ;) You may also be letting go as well - -but not at the expense of feeling better. I recommend Ashwaganda, Magnesium Plus and Pantothenic Acid. These nutrients all support neurotransmitter production and help ease stress/anxiety/depression in a subtle way. Consider taking 2 capsules of Ashwagandha in the AM and before bed: http://www.healthegoods.com/ashwagandha-extract-stress-support-60-vegetarian-capsules-seeking-health.html Consider taking Pantothenic Acid - 2 capsules with breakfast and 1 with lunch. http://www.healthegoods.com/pantothenic-acid-500mg-100-capsules-1.html Consider Magnesium Plus: 1 with breakfast and 1 before bed. http://www.healthegoods.com/magnesium-plus-100-vegetarian-capsules-seeking-health.html I would like to see you also be taking a quality multivitamin, probiotic and fish oil - and vitamin D3. Those are the essential four in my mind. Vitamin D3 deficiency can be big in mood imbalance. I do recommend you consider taking 3 drops daily of Vitamin D360 and then recheck your vitamin D3 blood levels. They should be about 45 to 50. http://www.healthegoods.com/vitamin-d360-by-seeking-health.html If you are looking for a good multi, consider Optimal Multivitamin: http://www.healthegoods.com/optimal-multivitamin-240-vegetarian-capsules-seeking-health.html Do let me know how these recommendations work for you by leaving a review in 30 days! I look forward to reading positive things! Best Dr Ben

  • I experience extreme anxiety and sleeplessness. at 5/22/12 11:06 AM
    • I have used alcohol to soothe my anxieties. I want to stop but I know that I will feel the anxieties even more. And will also experience sleeplessness. That always happens to me when I try to stop drinking. Can you help - with the alcohol issue as well as my anxiety and sleeplessness. I feel so overwhelmed that I cannot even work and am extremely anxious in crowds.
      HELP!
    • Hello -

I greatly respect your question and desire to get better.

There are many causes for anxiety -nutritional, dietary, lifestyle.

In order to effectively help you and really address this, I do recommend a consult for 30 minutes.

In the meantime, limit your ingestion of sugar and refined carbohydrates.

      Also be sure to:

      - Eat smaller but more frequent meals with some of protein with each meal. This is absolutely critical!

Imbalanced blood sugar is a common cause of anxiety and causes cravings for alcohol and sugar.

Also consider:- Calms Forte: 1/2 tablet before bed- Ashwagandha: 2 capsules three times daily to help support healthy neurotransmitter function- Magnesium Plus: 2 capsules with breakfast and 2 before bed- Optimal Fish Oil: 2 capsules twice daily

I also highly recommend you locate an integrative physician to work with. The webite www.Naturopathic.org is a great place to locate a naturopathic physician who may help you locally in your area.

      In health,

      Dr Ben
