Designed for the Alen Paralda Air Purifier, the Alen HEPA-Fresh Filter combines two layers of filter technology to purify and freshen the air in your home. Polluted air first moves through Alen’s unique, electrostatically charged HEPA style material that attracts and captures dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores and other airborne pollutants. In the final layer, clean air passes through a layer of Alen’s Activated Carbon, reducing light odors and chemicals commonly found in the air from cleaning products, smoke, cooking, pets and various other household materials.

Benefits

  • Creates an allergy and asthma friendly environment by removing dust, pet dander, mold spores and pollen from the air
  • Provides pure, breathable air by capturing VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) from cleaning products, personal care items and other household materials
  • Helps maintain a clean household by reducing dust
  • Instructions for Use

  • Over time, the HEPA-Fresh Filter becomes overloaded with particles, decreasing its filtration performance. Alen Corp recommends regular filter replacements, at least every 6 months with normal use. Washing or vacuuming the white HEPA style material will damage the fibers and is not recommended.
  • How to replace your Alen Filter :

Turn off your Alen Purifier, remove front cover and remove the dirty Alen Filter. Insert the new Alen Filter paying attention to which way it goes in. Next, reset the Alen Purifier so it keeps track when it is time to replace the Alen Filter again. In order to reset the unit, the filters and the back panel needs to be in place - this will allow the unit to turn on. Once the unit is turned on, hold down the reset button with a paper clip for 8 seconds. HEPA lights will then disappear and reappear over time and usage of the unit.

      • Thank you for your answer. It was helpful--to a point. I turned to the manual to remind myself of how to install the filters. Everything went well until I got to the reset button. The manual under How to Replace....states:
        4. Reset the filter replacement indicator--when the cover is open, using the tip of a pen....

Note: The purifier will not operate when the cover is open. I then went to the instructions under on page 6. No. 6. Reset--Press and hold the reset button for 5-10 second while the unit is running by using tghe end of a paperclip.....There is a conflict in your manual, leading to confusion.
      • I see your point. I believe these are just two different options in order to do the same thing. One with cover on and another with cover off. I believe the outcome will be the same. It makes most sense to press the Reset button though with the cover off while you are changing the filter. Why complicate it doing it with the cover on!? I will have our customer support team inform Alen of this so they can fix it or make it more clear in their next write up. Best Dr Ben

      • The red light has just come on on my Alen air purifier. How much longer will the purifier continue to work before the filters have to be replaced?
      • It is a good idea to replace your air filter now in your Alen air purifier. The reason is the more you use a dirty filter, the harder the Alen air purifier motor has to work in order to draw air through the filter. This wears the motor down. You are also not getting as much benefit as you otherwise would from using a clean air purifier. If you have not yet removed the cover on the Alen air purifier to vacuum the pre-filter, I highly recommend you do this now. You will likely see a lot of dirt and dust there which comes off very easily when you vacuum. I highly recommend replacing your air filters every 6 months especially if they are on continuously (which is also what I recommend). In health, Dr Ben
