Suggested Use
For adults and children above 11 years, take 10 drops orally 3 times daily, or as directed by a physician. Consult a physician for use in children under 12 years of age.

- Hi there, Unlike dietary supplements, homeopathic medicines are regulated by the FDA as drugs. What this means to consumers and patients alike is that Traumeel and other Heel products that contain mercurius solubilis (Mercury) have been determined to be safe by the FDA. This is due, in part, to the fact that the active ingredients are diluted to drastically low amounts. The pharmaceutical industry includes mercury in products as both a preservative (Thimerosal) and as an agent to reduce swelling (Mercurius solubilis) and are typically seen in hemorrhoid relief medicines, eye drops and nasal sprays. In 1996, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) set a guideline to monitor mercury exposure. The guideline allows for 0.1 micrograms of mercury per kilogram of body weight each day . Traumeel ointment contains significantly less than that allowable amount. You would have to apply 66 tubes of Traumeel 50 g ointment, all at once, to equal the amount of mercury the EPA allows daily. Alcohol serves as a preservative and helps in the absorption of the product into the bloodstream. There are dosage forms, i.e. tablets that don’t have any alcohol.
