Vitanica Black Cohosh, 120 veg caps

Black cohosh is wild plant found in the eastern United States and Canada. Native Americans used Black Cohosh to treat a number of maladies, and introduced it to early American settlers. Since then, this herb has been used to treat symptoms associated with menopause, PMS, and it has mild sedative and anti-inflammatory properties.

Black Cohosh acts as an anti-spasmodic for muscles and nerves, and because of this property can be an effective remedy for uterine cramps and muscle pain associated with PMS.

Black Cohosh is considered a phytoestrogen: a plant that possesses chemicals that cause estrogen-like effects on the body. Black Cohosh may act similar to estrogen in some people. Women with breast cancer or those who are avoiding estrogen should check with a medical professional before using. Black Cohosh has also been used by mid-wives to induce labor in pregnant women. Because of this, use of Black Cohosh if pregnant should be discussed with a medical professional.

Vitanica Black Cohosh contains both the standardized extract and traditionally used dried root powder of Black Cohosh.
