What are Cell Salts??? Great question!
Before I answer, I would like to let you know today marks the beginning of a series of blogs about cell salts. My hope is you learn enough about cell salts to make informed decisions if you decide to use them. Enjoy learning more about this interesting topic!
Cell salts are made from the twelve minerals essential to your body's functions. They include forms of calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and silica which work at the cellular level. There are 12 individual cell salts and each is geared toward healing specific emotional and physical symptoms and ailments. There is also a combination of 12 cell salts available which is called “Bioplasma”. It has all 12 cell salts in each tablet to provide overall cell support. Very cool, right?! Another great thing about cell salts is they are natural and considered homeopathic.
What is Homeopathy?
It is a natural approach to medicine that stimulates the body’s curative responses so the body heals itself. It has been proven effective for 200+ years!
Safety, Interactions, Age?
Homeopathic medicines are generally considered safe, generally lack side effects, and can be taken by nearly anyone at any time, from infants to the elderly, including people taking over-the-counter or prescription medications. My 16 month old recently had a cough and congestion he wasn’t kicking on his own, so I gave him a cell salt formulated for a baby with a cough and within a day he was better. He was easily able to take the tablets since they dissolve literally in seconds. He actually enjoyed them, and asked me for more!
Homeopathic Medicines are manufactured according to the standards set forth in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States.
What conditions do cell salts treat?
Cell salts are used for many different conditions ranging from intestinal issues, arthritis, infections, and injuries to chronic diseases, emotional disorders, wakefulness, and low energy, and this is just the tip of the iceberg!
How to decipher the different cell salts?
Each one of the cell salts has distinct characteristics, and each one is responsble for certain functions in the body. Let’s look at cell salt #6 with its keynote symptoms.
THE MOST COMMONLY USED ABBREVIATION is followed by its (traditional and chemical name).
KALI PHOS (Kali Phosphoricum; Potassium Phosphate)
The keynote symptoms you may need Kali Phos:
- Mental/emotional symptoms predominate—nervous tension, extreme nervousness, moodiness
- Anxiety, brain fatigue, irritability, temper-tantrums, sleeplessness, dizziness, nervous asthma
- Feel as if, "I'm too tired to rest."
- Easily bleeding gums.
This is just an example of what one cell salt can treat…there are 12 to choose from, along with Bioplasma.
Where to begin when using cell salts?
When deciding which cell salt to use, you have several options. One option is taking one single cell salt, an option often used to treat individualized symptoms. A second option is taking a combination of cell salts, often used more for treating multiple symptoms, or common ailments and conditions. Your third option is taking Bioplasma, which is a combination of all 12 cell salts and is meant for overall cell support and maintenance. Many people like to take Bioplasma along with a specific cell salt, depending on what they're treating.
What are the potency of cell salts?
Cell salts are in homeopathic doses meaning the mineral salt is diluted so many times it contains only a tiny, tiny amount of the original product. Get this…in homeopathy, the more dilute the substance, the more powerful of an effect it has on the body. Weird, huh? Cell salts come in different potencies (strengths) with the most commonly used potency being 6X. The "X" refers to the Roman numeral 10; 6X is one part in ten, repeated six times.
If you know of any effective cell salt combinations, feel free to pass them along and share your experiences with others.
Bottom Line: Cell salts are safe, natural, and effective. It may take some experimenting to get the right combo. Give them a try!
